Chemical definition: Mixture of natural Hydrocarbons and Phytosterols

Assay: Min. 75% Insaponifiable matter 25% and not less than 25% total sterols (estimated as b-sitosterol)

Product Origins: The annual herb Zea Mays is a member of the Gramineae family. Zea Mays contains proteins, starch, fat, Calcium, potassium, Iron, Vitamin B1, Vitamin B2, Vitamin B6, niacin, pantothenic acid, biotin carotene, cellulose and lysine. The Insaponifiable fraction of Zea Mays is extracted from the corn of Zea Mays.

Therapeutic Applications: The Insaponifiable fraction of Zea Mays is thought to reduce the mobility of the teeth, mitigate gum swelling and promote repairing of the alveolar bone by stimulating osteocytes. Especially among aged people Zea Mays is cited for its use in the prevention of cardiovascular diseases.

Known cosmetic indications include the use of the insaponifiable fraction of Zea Mays as a skin protectant, as an anti-inflammatory and anti-arthritic and for its skin regenerative properties.
